For the third year running, White Rose Polo Club will be heading to North Yorkshire for a day of polo in the fabulous surroundings of the Castle Howard estate on Sunday 26th June.
Visitors to Castle Howard will be able to watch local sides battle it out against White Rose Polo Club in the inaugural Castle Howard Cup, as well as seeing polo demonstrations and a parade of ponies, and having a go themselves on ‘Woody’ the wooden horse.
This is the third time that White Rose Polo Club has joined forces with Castle Howard to stage such an event, with a view to raising the profile of Yorkshire’s thriving polo scene.
Spectators can take the opportunity to be a VIP guest at the event by paying £70 (+VAT) for a ticket that entitles them to champagne and canapés on arrival, followed by a gourmet buffet lunch. There will also be an opportunity for VIP guests to meet the polo players over afternoon tea.
Hedley Aylott, Chairman of White Rose Polo Club, said: “I can’t think of a more magnificent venue for this type of event and we’re very much looking forward to it. As the fastest-growing polo club in Yorkshire, we’re keen to raise greater awareness of the sport. It’s possible that some visitors to Castle Howard will get to see their first game of polo, so this is a great way of introducing people to the sport.”
The Hon. Simon Howard of Castle Howard, said: “We’re delighted to welcome White Rose Polo Club and other local polo sides for the third Castle Howard Cup. Castle Howard is a wonderful location for polo, with plenty of space for the ponies and for people to enjoy a day out.”
