Our Charity this year is the Brooke - famous for its help and medical support to the working horses and donkeys in Egypt, India, Pakistan and Africa.  Started by Lady Brooke in 1934 she went to Egypt to rescue the war horses deserted by the powers that be in the UK at the end of the First World War.  The suffering by the ex war horses she encountered there was staggering - undernourished, overworked, sick and aged - yet still biddable, still loyal, still hard working.  Lady Brooke from a standing start, grew the Brooke to much of what it is today - an international organisation still working to alleviate the suffering of working equines in the brick kilns, on the streets and in the markets of these Third World areas.

We will be holding a raffle and a cake stall to try and raise lots of money for this worthy cause.
