The White Rose Polo Club hosts the first ever Yorkshire Open Polo Championship on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th August 2007

The White Rose Polo Club hosts the first ever Yorkshire Open Polo Championship on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th August 2007, at its beautiful grounds in North Cliffe, near Market Weighton.

Eight teams Yorkshire’s three polo clubs; Toulston, Beverley and White Rose have entered the tournament and will be competing for glory. There are two trophies for different handicap levels, ranging from -2 to -7, which will enable members of different abilities to take part.

This is an important Tournament for polo in Yorkshire and the White Rose Polo Club, which is in its first season. The Club has already become fully established within the region and we pride ourselves on encouraging people of all abilities to learn to play polo in a fun, constructive and encouraging environment.

With a growing membership of over 30 members, the club benefits from superb facilities and highly supportive members. The Club offers a range of Polo lessons to suit all ages and abilities and specialises in corporate events, private parties and childrens’ birthday groups.

Gates open to the public at 10.30am and costs £10 per car. Please bring a picnic. There will be four matches per day. There will also be the opportunity for people to try their hand at polo on the wooden horse ‘Woody’!

Over the last 3 weeks over 150 children have visited the polo club to take part in ‘Experience Polo’ aimed and encouraging young people from the region to take up the sport.

The weather forecast is excellent for the weekend so we look forward to welcoming you to the club to watch some very exciting polo.
