White Rose Polo Club wins first trophy of the 2009 season

Summit Polo Team victorious at Rutland

White Rose Polo Club members and their ponies travelled  to Rutland this weekend, to play in our first tournament of the season, at Ranksborough Polo Club. With heavy snow forecast, players, ponies and supporters wrapped up warm and took some extra mulled wine and carrots!

Eight teams from Rugby, Cambridge, Yorkshire and Rutland battled it out to win two special trophies.

White Rose Polo Club was represented by two teams,  Summit and a White Rose.

Brothers Matt and Alex Yeo teamed up with Emma Sanderson to form the White Rose team.  They lost one match but won their final match 12:9 to become runners up for the Ranksborough Plate.

The Summit team, comprising  Hedley Aylott, Tony Wesche and Dave Bryden, were triumphant in both their matches and therefore won the Challenge Cup.

Well done to all our players, who represented the White Rose Polo Club so successfully.
